All selection times on following days also begin at 10 a.m. CST in the housing portal.

$250 Prepayment - Every student must pay a $250 nonrefundable prepayment to secure their space.

• Pay within 48 hours of reserving by credit or debit card in the housing portal.
• Unpaid reservations are released to other students after 48 hours.
• It counts toward your rent. The full $250 is applied to your fall fee bill.
• If you cancel, you forfeit the $250 and may owe cancellation penalties.
• Paying with scholarships? Pay the prepayment by card when you reserve. It won't reduce your scholarship. Once scholarship funds post to your fee bill, any overage is refunded to your student account.
• Pelican Promise recipients don't pay at selection. Your prepayment is deferred to your fall fee bill.

Roommates

• Before selection opens, create a preferred roommate group of you plus up to three others (you + 3) in the housing portal.
• When you reserve an apartment, you can place group members into its open rooms. Each roommate must pay their own $250 prepayment to hold their spot.
• Being in a roommate group doesn't guarantee you'll live together, so plan to select together.

Annie Boyd Hall & Cedar Hall

• Choosing one of these halls reserves your spot in the building. Our team assigns your specific room later, and roommate requests are honored as space allows.
• Create a roommate group with your preferred roommate(s)/suitemate(s). 
• Upperclassmen living in Annie Boyd and Cedar Halls are required to have a meal plan.

After You Reserve

• Need a change? Once you've reserved and paid, contact our room assignments staff at housing@lsu.edu to change your room or apartment.
• Once you've reserved and paid, you won't be able to participate in later selection windows unless you contact our team to cancel your current reservation. 
• Want a different apartment style? The apartment interest list opens February 1, 2027, at 10 a.m. CST. The assignments team uses it to offer preferred spaces as they open up. Submit your preferences only once. If you have a preferred roommate, you should each list the other.

Start An Application: November 2, 2026, at 10 a.m. 

• The housing portal opens to submit a 2027-28 on-campus housing application and contract, search for roommates, and create a preferred roommate group of you + up to three roommates. 
  
  

Reserve Your Same Space: November 2, 2026, at 10 a.m. - November 4, 2026

• After this time, your room can be selected by other students.
• WCA buildings 2, 6, 7, 8, and 10 are not eligible for renewal. Residents in WCA 2, 6, 7, 8, and 10 should reserve a different space starting November 10.

Place Roommates: November 5, 2026 at 10 a.m. CST - November 8, 2026

• If you secured your room November 2-4, you can place your preferred roommates into open rooms in the apartment

Reserve a Different Space: November 10, 2026, at 10 a.m. CST - November 15, 2026

• Reserve any available apartment room in Nicholson Gateway Apartments, East Campus Apartments, or West Campus Apartments and place your preferred roommate(s) into open rooms.
• Or, reserve a spot in Annie Boyd Hall or Cedar Hall. Your actual room assignment in these buildings will be made later by our team, but you are signing up to live in this dorm for next year. Roommate requests will be honored as available. Upperclassmen living in Annie Boyd and Cedar Halls are required to have a meal plan.  
  
  

Continued Access to Reserve From All Options: November 17, 2026, at 10 a.m. CST

• Reserve any available apartment room in Nicholson Gateway Apartments, East Campus Apartments, or West Campus Apartments and place your preferred roommate(s) into open rooms.
• Or, reserve a spot in Annie Boyd Hall or Cedar Hall. Your actual room assignment in these buildings will be made later by our team, but you are signing up to live in this dorm for next year. Roommate requests will be honored as available. Upperclassmen living in Annie Boyd and Cedar Halls are required to have a meal plan.  

 

Interest List Opens: February 1, 2027 at 10 a.m. CST

• Join the apartment interest list to request a different apartment style or location.
• The assignments team will use this list and information to offer you a more preferred apartment space as they become available through consolidations and cancellations.
• If you have a preferred roommate, they should also join the interest list and list you as their preferred roommate on the form.
• Only submit your preferences once. 

You must be pre-approved for the 2027-28 ECA Honors Community to select a room in the community. Approval from the prior year does not carry over.

• Approved Honors students may select an apartment in ECA Buildings 10 or 11 and add their verified roommate group members to an open room - November 10, 2026, at 10 a.m. – November 15, 2026, at 10 a.m. 

You must be pre-approved for the 2027-28 WCA HSS Upperclassmen Community to select a room in the community.

Current HSS Residents in North Hall - November 2, 2026, at 10 a.m.

• Submit your housing application and create your roommate group. You won’t select a space yet! 
• Approved HSS students may select an apartment in WCA and add their verified roommate group members to an open room - November 10, 2026, at 10 a.m. – November 15, 2026, at 10 a.m.
