Undergraduate Scholarships

Full-time sophomore, junior, or senior student enrolled in the College of Human Sciences & Education majoring in a program of study in the School of Education with a minimum GPA of 2.8.

Full-time student pursuing a degree and/or certification in the School of Education. Preference is given to students enrolled in the Holmes Program or in a professional preparation program in the School of Education who plan to pursue a profession in teaching. 

Full time junior or senior in the School of Education. The awardee must be a graduate of an East Baton Rouge Parish public school, show academic achievement, and show promise as a future classroom teacher. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.  

Recipients of this scholarship must be full-time undergraduate students enrolled or intending to enroll (declaring a major and taking prerequisite courses) in the College of Human Sciences & Education pursuing a degree in early childhood education in the School of Education. 

Full time undergraduate student in a teacher certification program with a minimum GPA of 3.0. A preference is given to students in LSU Tiger Marching Band, Color guard, Drumline, or Golden Girls. 

Full time undergraduate student in a teacher certification program in math or science education. The recipient must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 for all college level work.

Recipients of this award must be full or part-time undergraduate or graduate students at LSU who are pursuing degrees and/or certifications in the College of Human Sciences & Education. Recipients must have an overall grade point average of at least 2.8. Applicants should submit a letter of recommendation from a pastor attesting to their outstanding character, community service and demonstrated leadership. In addition, the applicant may submit a letter indicating how this scholarship will assist them in their career pursuits. Preference shall be given to applicants from the Dunham School who are pursuing a teaching career.  

Full time junior or senior in the School of Education with a maintained minimum GPA of 3.0. Must be a Louisiana resident and affiliated with the Louisiana Association of Educators.  

Recipients of the Scholarship must be full-time undergraduate students enrolled or intending to enroll in the School pursuing a Dual Certification in General/Special Education. 

Full-time undergraduate or graduate students enrolled or intending to enroll (declaring a major and taking prerequisite courses) in the College of Human Sciences & Education's School of Education with a minimum GPA of 2.8. 

Full-time undergraduate enrolled in the College of Human Sciences & Education majoring in a program of study in the School of Education with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 who is an out-of-state resident with a demonstrated history of community involvement, volunteerism or public service. 

Full time undergraduate student in Geaux Teach Mathematics program. Must have a concentration in secondary education with declared major in Mathematics with a minimum GPA of 3.0. 

Full time student in the School of Education, preference to students in math, science, or special education.  

Full time undergraduate student in Geaux Teach. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 with a concentration in secondary education with declared major of: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics. 

This scholarship provides support for a deserving student pursuing a certification in special education in the School of Education. The recipients must have an expressed interest in teaching children with disabilities.  A preference is given to students showing a true financial need.

Full time College of Human Sciences & Education student enrolled in Geaux Teach with declared major: Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics

Recipients of the Scholarship must be full-time graduate or post-doctoral students enrolled in the College and engaged in research in ECEI or the LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory School.

Graduate Scholarships

This fellowship provides support to a deserving full-time graduate student majoring in English Education or for an English major in the School of Education. The recipient must be a Louisiana resident and display academic achievement and dedication to the field of education. 

Full-time graduate students enrolled in the School of Education. 

Full-time graduate students enrolled in the College of Human Sciences & Education majoring in a program of study in the School of Education. 

Full time graduate students pursuing their Master's degree in the School of Education with demonstrated financial need and a minimum GPA of 3.0. Must be in Holmes Program. 

Graduate student majoring in a degree program in the School of Education with a minimum GPA of 3.0. 

Full time graduate student admitted to the Holmes Program in the School of Education pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching degree. 

Full time students enrolled in the College of Human Sciences & Education pursuing a graduate degree in the School of Education with a specialization or concentration in Early Childhood Education with a minimum GPA of 3.5. 

Full time graduate student admitted in the Holmes Program in the School of Education pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in the College of Human Sciences and Education's School of Education with a minimum GPA of 2.8. Preference to Social Studies. 

Recipients are expected to earn: Admission into the PhD program in the School of Education's PhD program, with a specialization in curriculum theory, a 3.5 GPA at Master’s level, and a record of excellence that exhibits potential for research, scholarly presentation and publication in curriculum theory. In addition, they will need to submit two letters of recommendation, a personal statement that reflects their interest in a specific theoretical domain relevant to curriculum theory, and their scholarly goals and potential uses for the scholarship. The recipient of this $4000 award may use the endowment proceeds for activities related to his/her/their scholarship and completion of degree including: professional travel, research, equipment, books, and/or conferences. Travel to one of the CTP affiliated international institutions or conferences is especially encouraged. Must be in the Curriculum Theory Project. 

This scholarship assists a full-time graduate student pursuing an advanced degree in education. The student should hold an undergraduate degree from a Louisiana institution with a dedication to the profession of teaching. The recipient shall have the right to retain the scholarship for two consecutive years provided he/she maintains at least a 3.0 GPA for each semester. 

Recipients of the Scholarship must be full-time graduate or post-doctoral students enrolled in the College and engaged in research in ECEI or the LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory School.

The scholarships listed above may all be applied for through Blackbaud (located in MyLSU under financial services). Applications open in November.
