Discover Nature Programs
Through a partnership with the Louisiana Master Naturalist of Greater Baton Rouge (LMNGBR) we are proud to offer exciting new Discover Nature programs featuring local and national experts who are in touch with nature and are eager to share their experiences. All programs will be held in the Imo Brown Complex in the Beverly Brown Coates Auditorium at Hilltop Arboretum.
For Hilltop, LMNGBR members, and students registration is $10, $15 for non-members. Discover Nature programs are free for Members Magnolia Level ($250) and above.
Bats and Brews
Featuring Conni Pope
Tuesday, October 22, 6:00-8:00pm
Bats are our most mysterious mammals; we are big fans and want you to be too! Learn what we can do to celebrate and support one of our most important species in a healthy, functioning ecosystem.
Conni Pope, Zoo Educator at BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo, will present a program on “Bats” to help raise awareness and the need to protect them. Wild Birds Unlimited will be on hand with bat wares for sale.
Sip and sup on some fall-inspired Brews (for adults) from Rally Cap Brewing Co. and seasonal non-alcoholic beverages along with Jambalaya and Frito pies for all (on us!).
All ages welcome.
Bat Appreciation Week or Bat Week is an annual celebration that takes place from October 24-31. The week aims to raise awareness of the importance of bats and the need to protect them. Learn more about International Bat Week.
